Ollantaytambo is the site of the unfinished citadel of the Incas. This citadel is one of the last sites constructed by the Incas before the arrival of the Spaniards to this area. The abandoned stones and the unfinished murals are testimony to the battle that took place here between the Incas and the Spanish conquerers.
From the village of Ollantaytambo you can see the ruins of the unfinished citadel.
